Modernizing Enterprise Content & Collaboration Platforms

Creating a governed enterprise ecosystem for review, collaboration, digital asset management, content access, and platform adoption.

Executive Challenge

Paramount’s production, marketing, creative, and business teams depended on multiple platforms for content review, collaboration, asset management, media access, approvals, and distribution.

These platforms had often been introduced independently to solve immediate business needs. Over time, the result was a fragmented ecosystem with overlapping capabilities, inconsistent governance, disconnected metadata, different retention practices, and varied user experiences.

The organization needed to modernize these platforms without disrupting active production and marketing work.

The challenge was not simply selecting newer tools.

It was defining an enterprise platform strategy that aligned workflow requirements, user adoption, security, lifecycle management, governance, vendor partnerships, and long-term operating ownership.

Organizational Context

Paramount supported thousands of users across production, post-production, marketing, creative services, archives, consumer products, streaming, and business operations.

Each organization had distinct content workflows, but many relied on similar underlying capabilities:

  • Review and approval
  • Secure media sharing
  • Creative collaboration
  • Digital asset management
  • Metadata and search
  • Content access
  • Archive and retention
  • Enterprise administration
  • User onboarding and support

My role was to help align these requirements into scalable platform and governance strategies while supporting active users through major technology transitions.

Strategic Leadership

  • Directed enterprise adoption of Adobe Frame.io as a strategic review-and-collaboration platform.
  • Led implementation and operationalization of OpenText as a marketing and creative asset-management platform.
  • Led the planned transition away from legacy services, including policy development, user communication, enterprise administration, governance, and migration planning.
  • Established governance across permissions, metadata, security, retention, user roles, content lifecycle, administrative ownership, and approved platform use.
  • Partnered with business stakeholders, internal technology and engineering teams, and external service vendor teams.
  • Translated business and user requirements into platform roadmaps, operating practices, adoption plans, and vendor priorities.
  • Balanced enterprise standardization with brand-specific workflows and business-critical exceptions.
  • Created training, onboarding, communication, support, and continuous-improvement practices.

Key Executive Decisions

Decision 1

Standardize capabilities without forcing identical workflows

Created enterprise governance and platform direction while preserving appropriate flexibility for different brands and production use cases.

Decision 2

Treat migration as organizational change

Recognized that replacing a familiar platform required communication, training, transition planning, policy, and support—not just technical deployment.

Decision 3

Establish operating ownership early

Defined administration, governance, escalation, user support, security, and lifecycle responsibilities as part of the platform strategy.

Decision 4

Use vendor partnerships strategically

Worked directly with platform providers to align product capabilities and roadmaps with enterprise workflow requirements.

Additional Organizational Impact

  • Established more consistent enterprise governance across content platforms.
  • Reduced platform fragmentation and duplicated administrative models.
  • Created clearer ownership for review, collaboration, asset-management, and content-access services.
  • Improved user onboarding, training, communication, and support.
  • Enabled cross-brand and distributed creative collaboration.
  • Supported replacement of legacy platforms without interrupting active production and marketing workflows.
  • Strengthened vendor relationships and influence over platform roadmaps.
  • Created a more scalable content-platform ecosystem for future workflow modernization.

Organizational Impact

The initiative moved enterprise content platforms from isolated technical products toward coordinated business services.

Teams gained clearer direction on which platforms to use, how content should be governed, and where to receive operational support.

Leadership gained greater consistency, improved oversight, and a stronger foundation for future consolidation and modernization.

Leadership Insight

Platform strategy is ultimately an adoption strategy.

The strongest technology will fail if users do not understand why the change matters, how it improves their work, and where they can turn for support.

Enterprise success came from connecting product decisions with governance, operations, communication, and user experience.
